The weather in Merida is warm and humid, ranging from a temperature of 78°F/26°C and 104°F/40°C. Therefore, is recommended to use fresh clothing, sunblock, and hats to protect the skin for sun exposure.
The ideal place to start your visit is in the Historic Center, where you’ll find colonial buildings, museums, art galleries and restaurants serving from traditional to international gourmet food. Selected as American Capital of Culture in 2000 and 2017, you can see its heritage and Mayan culture scattered around the peninsula. The Gran Museo del Mundo Maya showcases more than 1,000 pieces that belonged to the Maya. This museum will explain the history of this ancient culture.
